I don't think glue is a good idea. You may want to remove it later for cleaning, etc. You could, however, use a drop of removable locktite. It will hold for vibration and the like, but you can still remove it when you need to.

I had the same problem with the lens getting loose while fiddling around with assist nozzle. I have an 18mm lens which is loose in the holder anyway. I ended up making an acrylic ring to shim it out to 20mm and I made some paper gaskets for the top and bottom of the lens to protect the lens surfaces and give it a little grip.

I don't know if there is a danger in using these options. There shouldn't be if the lens itself doesn't get too hot. I haven't been exercising my older laser that much as I am absorbed in constructing my 2.x.

When the lens was really loose in its holder, a polygon start and stop point could be 2 millimeters apart. That shows the importance of centering the lens and keeping it immobile.

Bummer about your lens breaking.
