I used an extension spring from McMaster p/n 9664K17. It is not part of the kits I am selling.

I switched everything to use that one extension spring on the new parts.

How did you secure the springs to the ends? Did you just insert and twist it a few lengths to get it on there good?

If you twist the right way or stretch the spring, it temporarily reduces in diameter. I use slightly undersized holes and they expand to fit. I tried to find a spring that fit an existing tap size, but it never worked out with reasonable spring sizes and stiffnesses.

Ok, thanks Bart.

BTW, did you get the motors in yet? I know it's unlikely, but I was hoping to get my kit next week because 3 of us who ordered these are all going to be together in Sunnyvale and we could begin assembly of one to go through it all.. :D Just so darn giddy about this!!

No motors. They are still weeks away.

IPv... where/when in Sunnyvale are you getting together for this? I'm really interested in taking a look, hanging out to watch, lending a hand if desired.

LOL I just realized you're in MH, I used to live in Morgan Hill. Calle Cerro was the street name.. Cool little area. My wife did Intero real estate and organized Monopoly parties for Roger Malech there, if you know him, LOL!! :D

I think everybody here knows Roger Malech, or at least has heard of him. If you get a group thing together building Ord bots, shoot me a PM. I'd love to drop in and learn some stuff.
