That's pretty interesting. I'll have to try that out. It amounts to using the defocused beam to heat the material. I literally just built myself a sheet bender last weekend. This may be even more accurate.

that is slick. I'll have to keep that in mind whenever I get around to starting my 2.x project

Since I can drop the floor out of the bottom of my laser, this option is open to me. Set your 2x up with a removable floor.
