New software stack that uses Arduino/grbl to control lasers

Postby laserink » Tue Jan 13, 2015 6:20 pm

Hi all I have been developing a software package to control CO2 laser mostly starter as a hobby but has turned into a commercial product with the launch of my LaserInk kickstarter.

Here is the link to the Laser Ink Kickstart offered by http://www.ObjectWorks.co
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/19 ... /laser-ink

For the control I am using an Arduino Uno running grbl with a modified version of 9.g for the firmware.

The complete software stack will accept images and svg vector files it also handle connect to and streaming the data to the laser.

Additionally there is a configuration form that allows you to quickly review and set all the grbl firmware setting.

The kickstarter main reward is a solid state laser head to fit onto the Shapeoko but I am additionally sell a software only option designed for the use with standard CO2 lasers.

Is the modified firmware published anywhere?

I'd love to take a peek, i'm currently in the middle of rewriting laser firing code for mUVe 3D firmware (the beta firmware with PPI control done by someone else that's currently in use is very badly optimized and pretty buggy) and wouldn't mind seeing how you implemented it.

What wavelength SS laser are you using?

Firmware Update:
I am currently working on an instructable describing the process.
As soon as it is finished I will post all of the firmware to the Git Hub and provide a link in the Instructable.

I plan to get this posted the beginning of next week
This is what the title will be:
Chinese Laser Upgrade with Arduino Controller and Object Works Software

Laser wave length for (Laser Ink project)
445 nm

Thanks
