Hello Scott from Brazil ;-)

First of all - welcome !

I am also very new here, but I have some experience with CNC.

I would suggest you start with a CNC mill - either buy it or make it yourself - because it is more simple - no optics, laser tubes, water and air systems etc.

If you are not very much DIY - I guess a better option will be to buy a ready made CNC cutter - learn how to operate it and then you can move to some other machines.

If I was in your place - I would not hesitate to get myself one of the X-carves (or something similar) - because for the price they are asking - (in my opinion) it will be far better then building one yourself since from my experience you will not save much on the total cost if you will build it yourself to that quality.

regards

Isaac
