Helios Hot Bed

Postby bdring » Fri Sep 28, 2012 2:26 am

I got my Helios hot bed today. Man that thing is bad ass looking. Flat black, gold, thick and that shape. It looks like something that the Borg would print with.

Great job Roy :!:

This picture does not do it justice.

I'm jealous - my stuff appears to have been lost in transit. Shipped last Wednesday and still not delivered enough though it shipped USPS First Class.

Mine was the same way, I got the notification 10 days ago and it didnt updated any status until Thursday. Looks like I should get mine either today or monday. (I think the labels might have printed off but then they didn't get them shipped out till late in the week)

Yeah, I looked up the status codes for USPS and it appears that's what happened with mine too. Label printed Wednesday morning last week - still not shipped... My order was placed 6 weeks ago tomorrow, hopefully it will ship soon.

Either way, the bed looks great. I'm glad I ordered it too. Bart: Any special tricks to mounting it? Thanks!

I have not mounted it yet. I want to get to it soon, but I need to clear a few things off my plate first.

I have torn down and rebuilt my machine to try so many hardware configurations, I am getting a little tired of it. The plan was to do one rebuild with the Azteeg x3, the Helios hot bed and dual qu-bd extruders (don't have yet). Currently the X3 is temporarily powering a "secret" project. Don't get your hopes up. It is probably something none of you would be interested in building.

It has a software aspect to it, that some people may be interested in.
