"New kit" BOM with sources

Questions, Suggestions, Tips, Etc

B17023 is just the "tire"

Postby bdring » Tue Jul 17, 2012 7:03 pm

Sort of the same

B17023 is the "tire"
B30041 is the whole assembly

FYI: You can use this page to find any drawing. Not all drawings have PDFs, STEPs or DXFs though.

It is linked off the first page of the wiki

I've used the dumpstercnc couplings (1/4" x 1/2-10 acme) on a CNC router with zero problems. Bought 2 couplers (5mm x 6.35mm) on ebay for $8 with shipping. If they don't work out I'll get some from dumpstercnc.

I think 1 more HFS5-2040-960 needs to be added to Misumi BOM.

The when I look at the D30025 BOM list, I see 2 HFS5-2040-960, in the new BOM, I'm only seeing 1.

There is an issue using the Dumpster delrin. I have used them several times and had to swtich out. The main probelm is they are temerature dependent.

If you are in a nice AC or heated space there are no issues. If the laser or CNC unit sits in a garage and you dont have it heated or AC you will have problems until they get to temperature. It's a common issue with them and many people I know have encountered it on their screw CNC machines.

No, this is mine. They're (rightly :) ) claiming I can't add up and pointing out that the correct number is in your BOM, and I'm missing one. Since I took all of the entries for mine from yours, it's probably a formula problem, and I haven't had a moment to fix it yet. I will do, soon.

Mea culpa,

Document revised to version 1.10, which now correctly lists the number of Misumi Extrusion 2040 960mm Lg pieces (HFS5-2040-960) to be 2.

Sorry if anyone ordered the wrong quantity :(

A question to Bart about stepper motors for the 2.x laser.

The laser BOM lists the stepper motors as:
Stepper Motor NEMA17 5mm Dual Shaft 200 s/r

In the makerslide store, you have:
NEMA 17, 0.9°, Dual Shaft (400 Steps/rev) Hybrid stepping motor

Are they interchangeable? I plan to use a LO DSP and would hope I can configure it to the finer step size.

I want to buy as such as possible from the makerslide store for my 2.x laser build to support Bart.

I have the 400 step motors and they work great with the Light Object DSP
