[img]I became together with my uncle a backer of Makerslide to build a pick and place Robot.
My uncle has a small plastic molding company and try to automate the production as much as possible.
He is making small plastic jar and need to put them in an nice way in big cardboard boxes.
Here is a 3D draft image of what it will look like
- pick an place robot
As you can see, It is a XY frame with a Z axis.
The 3 axis will be controlled by DC motors with encoders or servomotors. At the end of it, there will be a pneumatic head (
in blue) that will pick the plastic parts from the rolling band (
in green) .
At the other end of the rolling band, a second robot will pick the plastic parts from the machine and put them on the rolling band.
- pick and place robot 2.
As you can see, there is 1 linear axis and a second rotating one (the gray disc). A second linear axis will probably be needed to remove more easily the plastic part from the machine.
The Electronic controller (PLC) will be made using Q-Blocs or and ARM based micro-controller.
We aim to control the robot using path definitions written in G-Code.
MakerSlide is for us a low cost risk.
We already have Q-Bloc modules and we can program them. We also have some servos(from Robotis) and DC motors controllers (Solutions Cubed)
