Overcut in LaserCAD

Postby Greolt » Mon Mar 05, 2012 9:09 am

Will LaserCAD allow overcutting?

By overcut, I mean where you can specify that the end of a closed vector cut will continue a set distance past the start of same cut.

Very common feature in CAM software.

Try the Overlap in the Cut Parameters. That may do it (I haven't tried it).

Hi

I'm interested why you extend the cut on a laser cutter ?

TIA

Although it is a more common feature on routing/milling, it can be very useful on a laser.

In certain circumstances, and on some materials, it can help to get a clean finish at the start and stop point.
