LO DSP engraving "recipes"?

Postby LeonS » Wed Aug 10, 2011 6:27 pm

I am trying to figure out the nuances of using engraving mode on the DSP (v 4.45). Does anyone have suggestions of raster dpi values and step over values?

How does one approach refining the engraving process?

Thanks in advance,
Leon

Here is a little chart that I use to calculate scan gap based on DPI. I take the DPI of the photo I am engraving and divide it into 25.4 to get the scan gap. If the photo is 300 DPI I take 25.4/300 = .085 scan gap. I found this chart on one of the many laser sites I have been to. Don't remember which one, but it works well for me.
