is it required to have Stepper drivers or it can run stepper motors without them? I dunno why not incorporate them into the boards like few others do it.

Must have the drivers. You can't test the board without load of steppers actually attached without risk of burning out drivers unless you can remove the drivers. Being able to remove the drivers and use different ones is a feature imho.

aah makes sense, I also noticed on the site that MINI is the all in one model and this one is designed to be like this. Speaking of X3, anyone knows USA suppliers? Original site appears to be sold-out

As far as I know they are only sold directly through Panucatt. That's the designer's company.
