Order metal spacers to McMaster

Postby fma » Tue Nov 27, 2012 1:07 pm

Hi,

As dibloff explained here:

viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1567&start=40#p14811

the nylon spacers used to maintain the V-bearings are not strong enough. So I would like to order the metal ones he suggested, from McMaster, but as I'm living in France, I can't (they don't ship to France!).

Do you know where I can find these metal spacers in Europe? Or could anyone buy them and send them to me?

Thanks,
Frédéric

I have aluminum spacers in my store at half the McMaster price. The spacer also has a hole for a 5mm screw. The #10 hole that McMaster sells usually has to be drilled out.

Unfortunately, it will cost at least $15 dollars to ship Internationally.

Thanks! If I can't get some from Europe, I'll order yours.

Ok, I would like to order these spacers.

Can you tell me what are the exact shipping cost for France? When I use your tool, I get:
United Parcel Service (1 pkg x 3.00 lbs total) (UPS Worldwide Express, ETA: December 10, 2012) $118.730

Glups!

I want to order 20 spacers:
Spacer, Aluminum 5.1mm ID, 8mm OD, 6.35mm Lg. $0.420 $8.400

Thanks!

I have to use USPS Priority mail for International shipping. Otherwise I need to make a special trip to the post office. For an $8 order, that is not worth it. The cheapest rate to France is $16.95. That is for the small flat rate box. After PayPal, I will actually take a loss on the shipping. Normally I require a $25 minimum order on International orders to cover the time spent filling out customs forms. I can waive that for the spacers.

I understand.

What if I pay you now, and wait for the day you go at the post office, when you will have to go there for another purpose? I can wait several weeks...

How about waiting until I go to France. Unfortunately I was just there, so it may be a while. :)

Going to the Post Office around the holidays sucks. I don't plan to get there for a while...sorry.

Where have you been, in France? If you go near Grenoble (south-est), let me know: I'd be happy to meet you and show you around our hacklab!

Where have you been, in France?

2 week family vacation last June. Paris, Bourgogne, Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel...typical American tourist stuff.
