Bart, I printed your version and like it, it has worked better than the other minimalistic ones I've tried so far. I still get the occasional jam with the chewed out notch in the filament (happens more often with PLA than ABS).

So, all you QU-BD users: what speeds and temps are you printing at?

Bart,
Any news on the availability of the new extruder kits?
I've ordered the Mk7 drive gears and your extruder parts seems to be the missing links I need.

I don't think I will have any time to print more for a while. Maybe someone else on the forum can.

I got my first failure (after hundreds of prints) last night. It was using an old spool of PLA that sat open in a damp basement for over a year. The side was chewed out by the gear. I was printing at 215 degrees at about 150mm/sec. PLA has such a sharp transition point. if it is not really close to the melt point it is rock solid.

Are you using the 623ZZ bearings by chance (minimalistic MK7 uses the 623ZZ and works well on a MBE) ? Amazon small parts has them shipable via Amzon Prime.

I'm pretty sure Bart is using 624s on his version.

I used 624. I like the bigger diameter and wider face.
