Build Surface

What are people using as a build surface in their Ord Bots? I have a Hadron framework and a Mk 2 heated build platform and I was planning to try to track down someone to mill out a 214 x 214 mm borosilicate plate if I could find a source but I'm curious what others have done.

Thanks. I got my PG35L and some other items from them before. No problems for me.

I went to a local glass company and picked up an 8 1/2 inch piece of 1/4 inch glass, with the edges sanded. I use hairspray to make the prints stick.

**And my bed holder (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39994) works with the glass to get rid of the metal binder clips.

Ikea sells a borderless picture frame that is 8.5x11. I cut the glass to an 8.5" square using a $5 hardware store glass cutter and cut the hardboard backing to a 8.5" square using a utility knife. I use the hardboard as an insulator below the heated bed. I believe they're called "Klip", "Clip", or some other variation thereof.

In between the heated bed and the glass, I place an 8.5" square of aluminum that I order from OnlineMetals and recess m3 screws into.

I use the heated bed PCB and transfer punches to put exactly positioned holes in the aluminum and hardboard.
