Thank you for the links. I purchased the EZstruder extruder from SeeMeCNC, I snagged one when it was on sale. Has anyone used this extruder on an Ordbot? Does it easily mount to the X-axis plate?

Its my mBot Mk7 very similar to QU-BD
but
With your long j-head snoot you may want to turn the mount plate, on the X -axis
upside down , with flange coming out on top, to have room for J-head to poke down.

I might also suggest a real heater instead of a resistor.
Cartridge heater made to be a heater and has leads to take temperature and longer.
Resistors not really designed to be heaters!

Today I'm testing out the the X/Y axis motors and the RAMPS 1.4 board with the Smart LCD screen. Upon powering up the units the X and Y axis move back and forth indefinitely. I have no clue why they are moving as such, I tried pushing the stop button on the Smart LCD but to no avail. Here is a video:

My board is mounted to the Ordbot electronics mounting plate with 20mm PC board stand offs - I'm powering the board with 18 AWG copper wire. I also tried plugging in the connectors both ways into the board (upside down and right-side up) and the motors still make the same movements.

Any ideas?

*I did find this, which somewhat quells my concern, are the motors moving like this until end-stop / limitations are established?:

What do you have loaded into the Atmega/Ramps
Looks like you have test firmware installed.

You're probably right about the firmware, it must to be running a testing procedure. I haven't ran the the units without the smart LCD connected - but I bet you it will do the same maneuvers via the RAMPS 1.4 board. When I'm done building the printer I'll figure out how to upload the latest firmware to the board.

So the firmware was put there by provider?
Perhaps you should ask them?

Load up Arduino IDE on your PC/Mac.
Download the firmware loads
Compile and load the marlin firmware
and use pronterface or Repetier-Host to test your axes?
or
LCD firmware --- so you can use the LCD.

Hardware is going to be a problem but firmware and software will make you crazier?

This looks like rhe software that is loaded on the Ramps bought from RepRapDiscount. It should also move your Z up and down. Looks good to me.
