Cosmicray, Ok understood, lets assume my setup is correct (i will double check this, just to confirm) but my question to you is the following;
In Slic3r under Print Settings there is an area (accuracy) were you can adjust the layer height, could this be the problem of the layers not sticking to each other....In Slic3r I currently have the following setting; ( layer height set at .4mm ) i am using the QU-BD nozzle that came with the extruder ( .35mm ) diameter hole my filament is 1.75mm but with the calipers i measured it and the filament is actually 1.7mm.......

Layers not being squashed together enough to stick properly could be caused by not enough material being extruded. I'm not sure how much 1.70mm vs. 1.75mm will affect your extrusion volumes, but you might want to account for it and give it another try.

You do need to enter the real filament diam... This may fix your problem.

Did you set the Nozzle diameter to 0.35 mm (default = 0.5 mm) in Printer Settings > Extruder 1?

You can't set the Layer-height (0.4 mm) greater than the Nozzle diameter!
You should get an error message.

so guys i am using pronterface because Repetier gave me problems (froze and it didn't respond my setup is on an 8yr old laptop and it can only handle a baud rate of 115200, and not the 250000 that is recommended for Repetier)
i got it to print some what decent, but the corners of the cube are lifting. i know that the cause of this is because the bed is not hot enough...

when i heat the bed up;
i am using ABS, so i am heating the bed to 110C but when it reaches 80-90 t kinda slows down and does not go beyond that so my bed does not reach the 110C, what could be the cause of this....

Let me tell you when i get this fixed; for sure i will use Repetier, it is so easy and everything is accessible
and you can view what you are printing in 3D, you can rotate the part in any direction were in pronterface you cant.

@cozmicray: adding Bing as an option for the search was a nice touch. Extra points if it was done intentionally as subtle snark.
