Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:22 pmGantry is nice and square now that the machine is running the makerslide system, but I think you are right about the backlash, I will check all the belts and pulleys tomorrow evening and do another test run.

Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:46 pmI have a homebuilt CNC router that I built a couple of years ago. I have experienced the square corners being rounded on several occasions. This made it necessary for me to make new nuts for the screws. Mine are HDPE and wear out after about 8 months of use. I would check the backlash also. It solves it for me. I identify the problem by the corners being rounded in the opposite corners and square on the other two.
