Question before Ordering

Hi, I am Michael from GErmany and i am going to build my own Engraver Cutter.
But i have a couple Questions about The Motors and the Drivers.
I was looking for these Stepper Motors and for these Controllers.
What do you think? Overpowered or to small
Please let ne know.

I think the motors and drivers are fine. The inductance of the motors is higher than some, but I think you will be fine. My NEMA17 motors start to get hot at 24V and 1.6Amp. At 48V you will have to lower the current a lot and possible get near the 0.50 amp min on the driver. I think you are better to use 24V power supply. You might want to add some devices in the future that run off 24V or that have a linear regulator that would be 36V max. I sometimes buy 28V power supplies that can be adjusted up to at least 30 and down close to 24V.

Your motors are fine, but the drivers are opto-isolated which means that they may or may not work with the retina controller.

You don't really need a full 48V on such a small machine. It will work but you may end up needing a second power supply for 12 or 5 volts. If you use a 24V power supply you can use linear regulators no problem which is easy.
