laser cut width

I assume this is posted somewhere, but I haven't been able to find the info. What's the cut width on, say, 5mm acrylic using the standard 40W laser and optics? I'm not sure whether it big enough to require accounting for.

I'm doing a bit of redesign on the acrylic parts for the v1 laser.

Thanks.

For material that thick I use around 0.005 to 0.006 inch. If I cut an exact 1" square on the line it ends up about 0.994 inch. I use these numbers as my "tool diameter" in CAM software.

Cool, a cut radius of .0025-.003 inches is negligible for my purposes. Unless I were joining cut surfaces to one another such that the deltas build, I don't expect it to matter.
