Yes, it would not work like these two line lasers work.
The single crosshair laser would have it's center point move in relation to the height of the object it is hitting, unless you are projecting it through the focusing lens, and then it wouldn't look much like a crosshair, but more like a dot when it came out.
The two individual lines will always cross at the same point, regardless of height. It's pretty cool, and way easier to mount and align than an individual crosshair laser.
