I know this is a long shot but if anyone doesn't need or want their kit they preordered anymore, (if Bart is willing) I will gladly take over their spot in line :)

I have been lurking on the forum for about a month now. After reading many build logs, posts, the wiki, and Bart's documentation, I've decided that I would like to build a laser 2.x.

The one thing that I haven't been able to find is an indication of how to be involved in the next pre-order for kits (assuming that Bart does another kit). I've already started prepping to buy parts, but I don't want to go through with orders for optics kits, stepper motor drivers, etc if there is no guarantee that I can get one of Bart's kits.

I look forward to building and contributing to this amazing community.

Thanks for any info you can share.

I just got the last part for this round of kits. I hope to send out final the payment request email this weekend and start shipping right away.

I have a ton of work lined up and I cannot even think about another batch of 2.x laser kits for at least a month. There will be an announcement on the forum when (and if) I do that batch. There is no waiting list.

That's what I figured, and totally understand the massive amount of time that this stuff takes up for you. I just want to make sure that if you do make another set of kits, I can get an order in.

You've really created an amazing community. I'm in awe of your work.

Hey Bart - could you provide an ETA for skins making it to the makerslide store? I'm nearly at that stage.

Skins

Postby bdring » Sun Aug 12, 2012 3:52 pm

I started making skins this weekend.

I updated the skins drawing to put every part on one drawing. That makes it easier to maintain the DXF.

A few other people with big routers might start making skins available as well. If you have a big router feel free to sell skins on this forum.

While I only sold a limited number of kits over the past few month, I have extra sheet metal parts. I want these to go to people who are most likely to use them. I have sold a few sets to people who have made their own routed parts. If you send me a picture of your routed (or printed) parts, I will be happy to sell the sheet metal parts.
