I'm prepping for a new build with the goal of extending the cutting area to roughly 25" X 15". I placed my first order in the makerslide store yesterday, so I'll have a few parts trickling in soon.
Here is the first draft of my re-framing effort. Top view only. I'm working on a 3D version of the frame that I will hopefully post soon. The overall dimensions are 1150 mm X 675 mm.
The two 'Y' axis makerslides should be 635 mm. I have not yet spec'd the 'X' axis makerslide length. I do have some concerns about flex in the extended 'X' axis makerslide (roughly 125 mm longer than Bart's design). Any suggestions on techniques to stiffen this?
Besides the frame, table, and skins resizing efforts - I will need to resize the belts, correct?
Anyone have any pointers on resizing the belts?
Can anyone think of anything else that I may be missing in my scale-up?
I will share all drawings and dimensions in this thread as things progress. This will probably end up being a very slow build as I didn't get in on Bart's last pre-order... but I'm already starting to accumulate the parts that I can get ahold of.
