Sota LAVA heated bed - Thermistor help!

Postby Q*bert » Mon Nov 26, 2012 4:19 am

I bought a Hadron kit from Automated Technologies and it came with a Sota Designs LAVA heated bed.

It seems that this bed is now a dead product and I can't find any documentation as to what thermistor it uses. The Sota website says it uses a surface mounted thermistor, but I've looked the board over and I can't identify it. It reads about 83 degrees at room temperature and it does respond to increasing temperature.

I have fired it up and it heats well, so I would like to get the thermistor working.

Anyone know what thermistor the LAVA uses or what table to use?

It's a 10k thermistor.

Code: Select all
#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 4

The ATI kits are now shipping with a Helios heated bed which requires a separate thermistor. The Sota bed that used to ship with the kit had an integrated thermistor.

The Helios bed is black while the Sota LAVA bed is blue.

If you have the black Helios bed then you need the separate 100k thermistor.

Which bed do you have?

That's it! Default Marlin firmware connections are D8 for the power to the heated bed and T1 for the thermistor. You can change these in pins.h if you wish.
