I think I am running 16awg. 14awg would be better but it is too big and stiff. If you are running 18awg, you are losing a lot of the power in the wire and dropping your voltage. If you have any adjustment in the power supply try boosting the voltage to where it is 12V - 12.5 at the bed. I can easily get to 100C on my Helios.

If you want some highly flexible 14+ gauge wire look for silicone wire on ebay or at a hobby shop. It has a very high strand count and 12 gauge will bend to a 6mm radius pretty much under it's own weight. The silicone sheath is i plus since it will have no problem with 100C temperatures

Why not use 14ga speaker wire or 2 conductor drop cord wire? Really will not be around much heat with the helios bed connection at the rear. I'll check out that silicone wire too.

I'd say flexibility is the main selling point of the silicone insulated wire in this case.

+1 on the hobby shop wire.

Look for Dean's "Wet Noodle". It is very flexible and the silicone insulation doesn't even deform at 400C soldering temps.

I just used mains rate cable - good for 10A at (our) 240V, more than enough for the 6 - 10A that the bed will draw. I actually prefer the stiffer cable as I don't use the spring approach for a cable loom (just expandable nylon wraps) as the Mcmaster sizes/lengths aren't available locally at reasonable prices.
