What activates the Y axis end stop mounted on the right hand rail end piece?

Do you mean the switch? Here is an old rendering showing how it works. It shows two switches, but only the front is used as a home switch. There is a view on the assembly drawing showing it too.

Thanks Bart. I get it now.I see the extended mounting screw and insulator.

Because I needed to set up the home limit at top right, I just used the rear mounting holes for the y limit switch. Great flexibility in the design made it easy.
