Calculating steps/mm

Postby edmond22 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:20 pm

Hi Guys

I need some help calculating steps/mm
I am running 20 tooth MXL pulleys, 1/8 microstep and MXL belt(0.08' or 2.032mm pitch)
that works out to 1000 steps/inch which should equal 39.370079 steps/mm does that sound right.

sounds right, assuming you're using a 200 step/revolution stepper. [1.8 degrees] (based on your English numbers, I didn't verify your metric values)
