There are a lot of steps to go from CAD software down to the printed parts. There are a lot of options, but from a high level perspective they all do the same steps.

	* Create your STL file
	* Slice the STL file into layers and create the G-Code.
	* Control the printer and send the G-Code to it.
	* Software (usually called firmware) on the Arduino to convert the G-Code into actual motion.

The ORD Bot is basically a RepRap type machine. There are several electronic options available.

RAMPS

This is the system I use. The RAMPS (RepRap, Arduino Mega, Pololu Shield) is a shield for the Arduino Mega. The current revision for this is the 1.4.

Firm vs. Tight. In many steps of assembly of the t-slot parts you will initially tighten just enough to get them to hold their position but still allow the parts to be moved into final position. I will use the term firmly attach, for this. For example, firmly attached bracket A on the left end then firmly attach bracket B to the right end. Use a square to align the parts then tighten the screws. This terminology will be used in many places throughout the instructions.

What is the build area?

Quantum. - The platform is about 130mm x 130mm (~5.1 in. x ~5.1 in.). The platform is drilled for the MakerBot cupcake heated platform.

Hadron - The platform is approximately 216mm x 216mm (~8.5 in. x ~8.5 in.). The platform is drilled to use the standard MK1/MK2 heated build platform. <http://reprap.org/wiki/PCB_Heatbed>

The last part of the ORD bot to be built is the main frame and the Z axis that sits on it. For reference, the drawings are here.

	* Quantum.
	* Hadron.

The plain misumi extrusion should have two holes drilled in it as in the drawing. This is the base of the ORD bot. The center hole is for the wiring from the Y-Axis, and the hole on the right is for passing the Y and Z motor wires up into the uprights.

Start by passing the wires from the Y-Axis through the center hole and back out the ri…

Mark the lower cross member

Make on the top surface of the base extrusion 20mm from each end. This will tell you where to install the vertical MakerSlide extrusions. Mark the location where the Y extrusion will mount. This will help you center the Y axis. These dimensions are shown on the top level assembly drawings.
