Im thinking of using some loctite 641 to glue my x-axis drive pulley to my stepper motor. The reason being is the set screw works itself loose after a while and results in some obvious backlash.
My current setup is one set screw located above a flat spot in the shaft. I need to add some threadlock to the set screw to stop it working loose this may cure the problem but I though I would look at the other options in the hope of finding a more robust solution.
After searching the net I have a few options.
1. Add an extra set screw at 90 degrees to the first.
2. Drill through the pulley and motor shaft and insert a small roll pin.
3. Permantly glue the pulley to the shaft using loctite 641 locktites strongest retaining compound
3. Search for a split hub pulley in the size required, no luck so far and they are pricey.
4. Use a less agressive loctite plus some of the mechnical method of retaining the pulley.
Have I missed any better options out?
