Automatic generation of PCB based heated beds

Postby nrp » Fri Feb 24, 2012 8:59 am

I find routing boards manually to be pretty painful, so I'm writing a board generator that takes in volts, desired watts, and desired board size, and writes out a KiCad compatible PCB with a trace of the proper width and length routed onto it. I'm using a Hilbert Curve as the shape of the trace because it is very uniform, it can easily be manually edited to add screw holes without effecting the routing of the whole board, and it looks pretty nifty.

It isn't done yet, and there are hacks all over the place in it, but the work in progress is up on github.
