Has anyone considered building one? There is a post on http://blog.reprap.org/ regarding it, but Bucktown Polymers is now selling UV curable resin for $40/quart, which is pretty close to the cost of PLA filament by volume. The lemoncurry project (http://code.google.com/p/lemoncurry/wiki/main) has more details about an open source design.
So is this the next step in 3D printer technology? What are peoples thoughts on building a Makerslide version?
A few ideas I had:
-use a low volume resin container, fed automatically by a pet feeder/water dispenser like this: http://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Healthy-S ... 435&sr=8-1
-build an enclosure of UV filtering acrylic, so the resin doesn't harden from other light sources: http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=414
basic system:
