What are the hot end options?

Postby gavztheouch » Sun Sep 16, 2012 5:02 pm

Currently what is best hot end to use with any 3d printer, I like the look of the Ubis Hot End as used on the printr bot. Any other good options out there or one to avoid.

many options depending on your budget.

Right now I've got a J head hot end with a Wades Reloaded extruder, but I'm changing to a QU-BD extruder once it gets here.

I am just building first printer -- OrdBot Hadron
I got a mBot Mk 7 extruder
http://www.mbot3d.com/collections/toolh ... p-printers

I turned it 90 deg to fit on the bracket better,
that required drilling a new hole on the steel mounting plate.
Also drilled the Hadron plate to accept mounting holes on Mk 7

It comes with a driver board - that I will not need with RAMPS electronics.
I do wish there was some type of safety cut off electronics for overtemp.

I'll let you know how it works when I get it squirting hot plastic.

Keep on buildin'
