I'm running 3 printers now round the clock doing builds (PLA) for a beta test for my startup and the fumes are getting to be an issue. The windows are kind of far, so I would prefer to design a stand-alone fume remediation system for each printer.

I'm thinking of combining this design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18483) with this sort of fume catcher (http://www.grassrootsengineering.com/blog/mymachine/) driven by a 120mm fan (http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-120 ... =120mm+fan) on each bot.

I figured I'd ask for suggestions here before I got down to it as you guys have been playing with printers and laser cutters much longer than I have and would likely have useful suggestions.

I'm also planning on putting the solidworks files into GIT once I have them so that it will be easier to collaborate and follow development.

I like the smell of PLA and as far as I know it's not toxic. What are you printing?

I dont even find ABS fumes an issue and I sit next to the printer.

If you have an issue with the filament fumes, get rid of PLA. It isn't the advisable filament--it's toxic. You might want to opt for Taulman t-glase, I'm talking about this http://www.3d2print.net/shop/product/ta ... ase-black/. Unlike some lines, there are no odours or fumes when 3D Printing with t-glase and its 100% reclaimable.

In case I came off as harsh on the other threads, let me tone it down a notch. Coming to the forum to let us all know that you sell filament and to tell us that you believe it's a good product sold at a fair price is good information to share with us...BUT spamming the threads with nothing but plugs is kind of rude. So let me help you pimp your wares and get it out of your system...
