Any sign the code's starting to stabilize and glaring bugs are being fixed or is it still a mess?
Not that i plan on switching back from KISS any time soon, but it's always nice to have options...

Edit: Hmmm. Now that i've mentioned KISS, there seem to be a lot of (previously) KISS specific features in Slic3r 0.9.9 now.
Also:

base flange under support material

Finally!

Am currently doing my first print today, using 0.99, with 0.25mm nozzle/0.2mm layer, and I feel a milestone improvement, from a visual point of view.
Beyond new features, It seems to have quite bug fixes.

I tend to use KISS more now, but I gave money to Slic3r because it is free. Funny how that works.

They both have different reasons to use them, but Slic3r is definitely on a faster dev cycle.

Cura is a new kid in town, being a good slicer, improving very fast, too.

EDIT: I realized that Cura is a GUI front-end, using skeinforge, actually.

Well, with this release of Slic3r I'm back. I'd moved to Cura after a lot of retract experiments between the two, Cura was just better. There was one calibration object in particular that Slic3r made bizarre decisions on ruining it. Tried that object on .9.9 and its as good as Cura was. Printed out several things tonight with it, looking good so far. Raft is a bit strange, you have to set brim and raft. Then the interface layer I haven't figured out. I'll need to sort that to do larger ABS pieces as I can't reliably get my bed to over 90.

i've been getting great results with Cura 13.03 lately, but i might have to give .9.9 a try. i'm still kinda new to this and recently completed dialing in my settings, so having some more flexibility in Slic3r is nice.

This comparative "Slicer Torture Test" could make KISSlicer possible the best choice.

Pictures say it all, here.

Curious to compare using my custom small nozzles (0.25/0.20) against 0.99
Done! I paid my Pro license. :D

EDIT: I just finish my first KISSliced part, from this thing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:45316
Based on my settings, the quality is really better, comparing with my 099 slic3r print.
Will try to post comparative pictures.

Where are the configuration files (the ones you change) stored? I have some on the list I want to delete but don't see how to do it. I searched my HD for the configuration name but came up empty.

We could say: almost hidden... Slic3r ini files are stored there: [Disk Letter:]\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming

EDIT: Searching any config name appearing on the list (without appending .ini) works very well.
