Has anybody else here read the new book truthabout3d.com ?

Has anybody else here read the new book “The Truth About 3D Printing: How to Make Money 3D Printing” and if so what did they think of it:

www.truthabout3d.com

It seems to be geared towards a home business crowd rather than an academic audience but I still really enjoyed it.

I can not seem to find that spending of $67.00 on a book that also has a bunch of other stuff worth it. If they wanted to give the book away fine but don't try to sell me a pile of other crap that I have to remove and not use. Just give me the book.

Not worth it? This is "The Complete 3D Printing System" (not available on Amazon), with a value of $1746.00!

The "Elite Members Area" alone is valued at $499, and "BONUS Software" valued at $999 sounds too good to be true.

Here's a quote from http://truthabout3dprinters.com/?p=5 :

"The process of printing from a three dimensional machine can read designs from STL file and then bring to successive layers of paper, powder and sheet material that is gotten from a cross section series."

I did not know that.

I shall order 2 copies (one for my iPad) once I conclude my business with the Nigerian Finance Minister.

Well, they got one thing dead right (ignoring the inane phrasing and the scarcity of commas). Emphasis mine:
3D printing which is known as addictive manufacturing is the method of making a three dimensional solid item of any size or shape from a digital model or concept. It is achieved when you make use of an addictive process where there are different layers that are done in various shapes.

Tell me that that's not spot-on!

But, what finally sold me was the promise of discreet billing. Because god forbid someone will see that I've bought a book about something as controversial and shameful as 3-D printing. Unless the book is about making money from 3-D printed porn, and I somehow missed that bit?

Yes the price seems great. But I remember one other great deal. Mr. Earl Schibe "I will paint any car any color for $19.95" Thats right. Drive the car to his place, he then drives it into the paint booth. BLAM paints the car and pushes it out. Time 15 minutes. Any car any color $19.95. The whole car was one color - glass, chrome, tires - everything. Everything is a great price until you actually try to use the item.
Are the other items included worth what they claim. NO but that does not matter its such a great deal. One other rememberance. The old Snake Oil salesman. Yuck.....

YES! I want to get The Complete 3D Printing System.

Does that mean when I buy the complete system I can download a 3D printer too? And how much does it cost to download more filament?

As far as I'm concerned, it's not a complete system unless it includes everything needed to actually make a 3D print. And watching the video without sound, I immediately wanted to reach into the screen and punch the guy in the face. Not sure why.

No, I think it's a system as in scheme, or strategy. Specifically, as in pyramid scheme, or multi-level marketing strategy. For $67 or whatever he wants, you get the ebook and the $1500 worth of extras. Then you make more copies, and sell them to other fools. Instant money!
