Postby Brett1984 » Tue Mar 18, 2014 9:33 pm

hi, does any body know in lasercad can you add tabs/bridges to your drawing to stop the pieces falling out? im new to this dsp but used mach3 before and used artcam to add bridges to keep the pieces in place.I have lasercad v6.57.

Break the linework. I do this on paper art stuff. Not for anything else though. Usually we all try to have our parts fall out. CAM software is different in that way, with a milling bit you have mechanical stresses when cutting. You need tabs to keep things from shifting. Not so much with laser cutting.

Thank you for the reply. I design model aircraft and wanted to kit my design that's why I wanted the pieces to stay in the sheet.

I'd definitely hand place the tabs then for the best results. Align with the grain direction so they're easy to cut free.
