Hey,
i have been using my buildlog laser for several months and i like the x7 controller from lightobject. Unfortunately the software is really a piece of crap and neither network nor plugins for corel work so i am looking around for other options. Do you have recommendations for a better controller for our lasers?
thanks a lot,
tm

The LaserCAD software is pretty junky. However, all the functions are there. It can just be very annoying to stumble on them.
I would suggest a different software package. Lightobject says it works with Corel Draw and AutoCAD.
I have used Draftsight (free) and AutoCAD for lasers. I could do everything but pictures (only able to raster text & shapes, and do vector cuts). Color mapping (Cut/raster, speed, intensity, ect..) for settings can be annoying sometimes when using a CAD software for laser cutting.

I tend to use LaserCAD just as software to run the laser. I don't do any drawing in it. All my objects are drawn in my CAD software and then exported as AI files (I find AI works best--much better than DXF). The only thing I'll do in LaserCAD is position and sometimes scale and of course set power/cut/engrave et al. For that, I'll select the object and then type in the X or Y position. I tend to put everything as 0,0 and then set the origin of the laser from the control panel to where the material is.
