Hmmm, I think what I would do there is lay the whole unit face down (to keep the display flush) then thread the screws into nuts so they are just flush with the back of the alupanel and then epoxy them in place.

I don't follow Ben's description at all.

Anyway here is an exploded view of what I did. The control panel mounts to a sub plate using it's mounting screws and the sub plate mounts to the back of the skin. The membrane switch panel is rather thick so it still sticks out a about 1mm. I might slip some washers between the panels to get it flush. The edge of the control panel is raw yellow FR4 so it is nice to hide it a little. If you have a problem with screws, you could always glue the sub panel to the skin. The control panel would still be removable.

Those dimensions are what I measured by hand.

Bart do you have the files for the top panel with the DSP cutout ?

I have the files, but I trying a different version where the two panel glue together to get rid of the "ugly" screws. I should have that test done in a few days.

They are the same. Thunder is the manufacturer. LightObject is a distributor.

They do have different software versions in them and the auto focus and rotational adapter function works differently. I am going to have Thunder Laser upgrade my software in my LightObject DSP. Thunder Laser's manuals are more up to date and have more information in them. I have been exchanging emails with a technician named King and they are going to upgrade my DSP software for free.

Is there a user manual for the Thunder Laser version of the DSP firmware? Are there advantages in switching to TL firmware?
