To mount the QU-BD extruder did you drill new holes in the gantry or did you widen holes on the extruder plate?

The ORD Bots were designed before the qu-bd extruders were available. As soon as I get mine (way late!) I will design an adapter plate and a dual extruder carriage for the qu-bd.

May I ask a silly question?
Is it necessary to flatten the motor shaft so the set screw can bind?

No, the torque is quite low and the screw will not slip.

I have my Ordbot Hadron setup
RAMPS1.4 with motor divers installed
I also have the Reprap Ramps 1.4 smart LCD controller inclunding smart adapter including 4GB SD
I have replaced the thermocouple on the extruder with a thermistor
I think I have Marlin firmware setup correctly?

How do you set up origin / home position?
Does the printer go to the endstop switches and that is the home position?
You have to set up the mechanical stop switches at the home position?
Do I have to set up parameters so x steps = 1mm of travel?

How did you guys at ATI level the bed?
What kind of bed and leveling mechanism?

Tnx

Ray,
We used a level to level the bed.

The printer goes to the end-stop switches and sets it's home position.

The parameters for the steps is in the Arduino code.

Here is our steps straight from our Marlin code located in "Configuration.h":

#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {78.7402,78.7402,2519.68,106.707} // default steps per unit for ORD Bot Hadron

Should the end stop switches have been included with the full kit from ATI?
My electronics shipment arrived Friday, with out any sort of packing list, and there are no end stop switches in it.
I'll ask ATI directly but as there may be a delay until business time on Monday, I thought I'd ask here.

The RAMPS module came packed in antistatic bubble wrap inside a small plastic box on which was written the word 'BAD'. I really hope this is an acronym for something to do with 3D printing :D

Geoffs
I just got mechanical stuff from ATI, No electronics
I got RAMPS1.4 from Gadgets 3D via eBay auction
and RAMPS with motor drivers and LCD panel from reprapdiscount via eBay.

End stop switches not included. I order up some mechanical micro switches from ebay
You can use hall effect or opto end switches if you want
I mounted switches on stationary part of OrdBot and stop plates on moving axes

When you "home" the printer it goes to the mechanical stops for a known position.

ATI told me Bart here on this forum is there tech support

Have phun

Thanks for the info.
I got a reply from ATI explaining that the end stop switches were not included.
The BAD message on the box is most likley due to a wrong box being used. ATI have a pretty good reputation for after sales service over on cnczone so I'm sure that if there are any issues with the RAMP, they;ll be sorted out.
I ordered mechanical endstops, Pololu drivers and an LCD from reprapdiscount on eBay ($US119). If I'm lucky, I'll get them this week.

I should have stumped up the extra $15 and got the Hall effect switches.
