I'm already using your floating Z-wobble elimination solution so as soon as you figure out how to incorporate this I'll jump on it as well. :D

I have to admit that I don't use any end stop! But I will give this solution a try as soon as I have time...

I've got me a proximity sensor from Amazon for $6 and it's been working great, there is even a hole for it on the X-Carriage

I didn't realize those were sufficiently precise for this purpose. Thanks for sharing that. How'd you wire it up?

Call me crazy, but i don't feel comfortable having the whole gantry weight rest on the nozzle tip in order to calibrate the Z.

I mean, i have a floating Z set up, but that's to prevent a head-crash. And even then it doesn't always work 100% (i managed to bend an Arcol.hu heatbreak tube because the screws i'm using to fix the lead screw nuts from rotating got stuck).

If i understood the idea correctly, this actually rests the whole gantry weight on the nozzle tip EVERY TIME you calibrate.
Unless it's just meant as an emergency measure, but then - what's the point, it's as good as having it float mechanically when the nozzle hits the bed.

Very simple really... it comes in 3 wires, Blue, Brown and Black. Brown is Signal and goes in the middle pin of the 3-endstop pins. on my Printrboard for the Z-Endstop I have Blue,Brown,Black. I am looking at the board with reset button on the bottom right.

Thanks, that sounds like a simple thing to try out.

Speaking of... has anyone added a Z probe to their Hadron?
