I want one. It'd work well for CNC too. Imagine a FDM 3D printer combined with a 5-axis CNC... extrude a blank, then finish with a cutter.

This macro print is very interesting for educationnal purpose, you can really fill the blobs of plastics. I suppose it is not very optimized for the prize but it is looking good, both parts and machine.

It's not optimized at all. It's a repurposed robotic arm and it's munching up chips of shredded plastic in what looks like an industrial extruder meant for injection molding. It's more of an art installation than anything (point being - creating useful everyday objects from recycled plastic scrap).
