Yet another 3D printer on kickstarter

Postby canadianavenger » Fri Oct 05, 2012 1:41 am

Following on the footsteps of the Form 1 success another 3D printer has made it's pitch... The Pandabot.

This one is FDM, and looks to share a lot in common with the ORD bot in its design. For those of you who can't or don't want to go through the tuning process with the ORD bot, or other DIY 3D printers this one may be an option for you. And the price is certainly much easier to swallow than that of the Form 1.

Disclosure: The creators are former members of my local hackerspace for which I'm a member, but I don't really know any of them except by name.

Rip off of the bukobot. Shinny from the outside but i have never heard of a machine taken in 2 parts and assembled(in a snap) without calibrations to work properly , at least in the long term. And the self lvling looks nice but how will it perform on heavier parts build from 0x.0y , plus the vibrations it can cause.

Hello canadianavenger,
I have visited the link you shared. It is very interesting and amazing technology. I am also enthusiastic about 3D printers. Similar to kickstarter many 3D printing technologies are available. I have been using 3Dstuffmaker printers http://www.3dstuffmaker.com/ nearly one year. This printer is very easy to use and it has large print area when compared to other printers. They offering printers at very affordable price.

I wonder how "They" feel about you using their name as your username ;)

I think I just set a new record for possessive adjectives in one sentence.

Should've been "... about your use of their..." to add one more ;)

I like his self advertising. I actually clicked on the link... MAN is that a high tech alternative to an ORDBot. (it's made out of tinker toys, right?)

Anyway,
I saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk8sPP6ffMk on http://diy3dprinting.blogspot.com/ and said, that looks oddly familiar. I've seen that... in my garage... odd.

"I wonder what their feelings are..." -- one more.

I've seen an injection-molded RepRap Prusa derivative, and I wasn't impressed. I'm not saying this is the same, just that the one I saw wasn't very good.

"My question is, what are their feelings..."

Thank you, 3dstuff, for triggering this pointless amusement. Now, why is your (their) printer better than an ORDbot or a PandaBot?
