By the way I just went on the Walmart site and was able to purchase this item with store delivery by my home.

Hey Bob -

The guys seems to have nailed it with the temperatures - and you can "see" the acetone vapor climbing up the side of the glass, and then turning it down kept it inside the jar. The key is not to heat too much or too fast I think.

I weighted how much I put in, but she who must be pleased want's to do some of her prints, so I've not tried to see how mush was lost - but by eye it does not look like a lot.

If you really wanted to be safe, you could have the jar of acetone in a plate of water on the hotplate - then any vapor that did overflow the jar would be absorbed by the water.
