Filament spools

Postby liqdfire » Thu Mar 28, 2013 12:40 am

I am making one of Barts spool holders, but all of my current spools look small compared to general spools online.

They are from MakerGear, I was curious how big a typical spool is in diameter, or Bart how long you cut your extrusions to make your spool?

2 @ 150mm and 2 @ 280mm.

It is very adjustable.

I made this laser cutterable one that's similar to what I've gotten from protoparadigm and makergear:

The 2.2kg spools I have are actually about 15mm thicker than that at the spool. Those spools are as wide as the *hub*. They might match the new 2lb spools exactly, but I haven't seen one yet.
