They both have different reasons to use them, but Slic3r is definitely on a faster dev cycle.


Make sure to check the KISS forum often.
The 1.1 RC went through quite a few iterations, AFAIK. The dev cycle isn't faster than Slic3r by any means, but it's not as slow as "official" downloads might make you believe.

Re: Cura - didn't like it due to lack of settings. Not sure if it's still like that. Also, it was making some weird jittery moves.
Haven't tested Slic3r 0.9.9, but out of the bunch, KISS has the best support structure generation, IMHO. The most configurable one too.

Seems to run the same as 0.9.8 . I copied it into the existing directory and it uses the config files I had used for the old version so an easy upgrade.
