Pronterface does not print

Postby syldcru » Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:25 pm

I am able to manually move the ord bot hardon using pronterface, But when try to print the calibration cube the printer does not react to the commands being sent to it. I can see pronterface sending the g-code to the printer. What am i missing?

Which Firmware are you using?

Try Repetier-Host, anyway a better solution.

It would help if you could specify your Set-up:

ORD Bot Hadron?
Electronic RAMPS?
Extruder?, Thermistor type?
Endstops: mechanical? optocoupler?
Computer: Win7, OS X, Linux?

If you would install Repetier-Host, it would be easier for me to help you. With Repetier-Host you could e.g. select "Dry Run" for testing without extruder.

The best would be if you could upload your Configuration.h.

I have built the Ord bot Hardon.

I am using a Ramps 1.4

I have 3 end stops at the "home" location And they are mechanical.

The computer is Windows 7.

I am using Pronterface for the printing solution. I will install Repetier-Host when I get home and also upload my configuration

I have installed repretior and I am able to manually move the axis, but when I start the print it hits the end stops and kills the printer. Do you have guide to setting up reprioter?

1. I suppose repretior = Repetier-Host V0.90C
2. Your Marlin Firmware is not updated > download the latest Version and set all the settings as in your old Configuration.h
then
3. Set the TEMP_SENSOR_0 to your type (I asked you to specify your Extruder above!). Are you using a heated Bed? If so, set the TEMP_SENSOR_BED to your type, otherwise to 0.

Code: Select all
#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1 // ? depending on your Extruder
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_2 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 0

4. Check the PID Settings for your Extruder, e.g. Makergear
Code: Select all
// If you are using a preconfigured hotend then you can use one of the value sets by uncommenting it
// Ultimaker
//    #define  DEFAULT_Kp 22.2
//    #define  DEFAULT_Ki 1.08
//    #define  DEFAULT_Kd 114

// Makergear
    #define  DEFAULT_Kp 7.0
    #define  DEFAULT_Ki 0.1
    #define  DEFAULT_Kd 12

// Mendel Parts V9 on 12V
//    #define  DEFAULT_Kp 63.0
//    #define  DEFAULT_Ki 2.25
//    #define  DEFAULT_Kd 440
#endif // PIDTEMP

5. If you've connected the endstops as described on http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_1.4, change these lines:

Code: Select all
// The pullups are needed if you directly connect a mechanical endswitch between the signal and ground pins.
const bool X_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops.
const bool Y_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops.
const bool Z_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops.

Check the Axis-Definitions here:
http://www.buildlog.net/wiki/lib/exe/de ... d:xyz3.png

6. In Repetier-Host open Printer Settings>Printer Shape> check your Printer Parameters (200, 200, 150 ...)
7. Try to print a test object, the printer will start after the Extruder Temp is reached ("Dry Run" only works with Repetier-Firmware).

Note: to upload the Configuration.h file to buildlog.net select Upload attachment.

I am now receiving this error from pronterface, Repetier Host does not give me an error but does not move my axis. Which I was able to do yesterday..

Connecting...
start
Printer is now online.
echo: External Reset
Marlin 1.0.0
echo: Last Updated: Jul 31 2013 22:10:35 | Author: (none, default config)
Compiled: Jul 31 2013
echo: Free Memory: 5417 PlannerBufferBytes: 1232
echo:Hardcoded Default Settings Loaded
echo:endstops hit: Y:0.01
echo:endstops hit: Y:0.03

I am so close to giving up on this printer, it feels like I make progress then everything changes the next day....

just loaded the composition.g-code and it raised the X axis an started to print.. But it is not extruding any of the filament.
